TikTok

Answer direct messages sent to your TikTok business account.

Requirements#

A TikTok Business Account with direct messaging enabled.
A TikTok login that administers the account, to grant OmniMessage access to its messages.

Connect the channel#

TikTok channels are connected in the console by signing in with TikTok:

Open Channels, choose Connect channel and pick TikTok.
Choose Continue with TikTok. A TikTok window opens; sign in to the business account and approve access to its messages.
The window closes and the channel shows as pending, then as connected.

There are no credentials to copy, and creating a TikTok channel with an API key is not available. The identifier of the channel is the TikTok business ID. To renew the authorisation later, open the channel and choose Reconnect.

Recipients#

to is the TikTok user ID of the conversation, as it appears in the from field of a message.received event. It is specific to your business account. An account cannot message someone who has not written to it first.

Supported message types#

Type	Use it for
`text`	Plain text of up to 4096 characters.
`attachments`	One image, video, document, audio file, voice note or sticker, fetched from an HTTPS URL.
`button`	Text with one to three quick-reply buttons.

Channel rules#

Messaging is reply-based: TikTok accepts business messages only in conversations the user started, and only for a limited time after the last message from the user.
A message that TikTok refuses fails with a provider_error and is refunded.
button messages show up to three reply buttons. A tap arrives as a message.received event carrying the button id.
Content must comply with the TikTok business messaging policies.

Delivery statuses#

TikTok reports sent. Further statuses depend on what TikTok returns for the conversation; do not rely on delivered or read on this channel.

Pricing#

Each accepted outbound message on a tiktok channel consumes one package credit or the tiktok price from the wallet. Read your effective price from GET /v1/pricing. Inbound messages are free. Fees charged by the provider are separate. See Billing.
